SmartNCERT AI Reader is an educational reading and study tool. This policy explains the main types of data used when you use the website.
Information stored in your browser
Some reading preferences and study data are stored locally in your browser so the site can remember your experience. Depending on the feature you use, this can include your recent book and page, tutorial status, reader preferences, cached study results, highlights and notes. This browser data normally remains on your device unless you clear it.
AI features
When you use an AI feature such as AI Explain, Simpler, Key Points, Example or Ask a Doubt, the selected textbook text and the request needed for that feature are sent to the SmartNCERT server and then to the configured AI provider so a response can be generated. Do not submit sensitive personal information in textbook selections or questions.
AI usage limits
For normal users, SmartNCERT may set a pseudonymous browser identifier in a cookie to enforce daily AI usage limits. This identifier is used for service control and is not intended to identify you by name.
Owner authentication and service data
Owner-only management features use Supabase authentication. SmartNCERT also uses backend services for items such as book metadata and owner-controlled settings. Normal readers are not required to provide an owner email or password.
Translation, dictionary and external AI links
Translation and dictionary requests may be processed through third-party language or dictionary services. If you choose Ask ChatGPT or Ask Gemini, SmartNCERT opens the relevant external service and may place the prepared study prompt in the destination URL or copy it to your clipboard. Once you use an external service, that service's own privacy policy and terms apply.
Server and hosting logs
The hosting platform and connected service providers may process technical information such as IP address, request time, browser details, errors or security logs as part of operating and protecting the service.
Advertising
SmartNCERT includes owner-controlled advertising support. If third-party advertising is enabled in the future, additional cookies or data processing may apply and this policy should be updated where required.
Data selling
SmartNCERT does not intentionally sell personal information submitted through the site.
Your choices
- You can clear SmartNCERT browser data using your browser's site-data controls.
- You can avoid AI features if you do not want selected text sent to an AI provider.
- You can avoid external ChatGPT or Gemini options if you do not want to open those services.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated when SmartNCERT features, hosting, AI providers, advertising or legal requirements change. The date at the top will show the latest published revision.
Privacy note: SmartNCERT is designed as a study tool. Avoid entering passwords, financial information, medical information or other highly sensitive personal data into study tools.
